Okami HD Announced – With Move Support

Whenever you look at any “Top 10 Playstation 2 games” list there is one title you will find on every single one of them. Okami.

Okami was released to critical acclaim at the end of the PS2 life cycle and was missed by many people (myself included). A version was later released on the Nintendo DS but it did not have the same vibe nor rich experience offered by the PS2 Original.

Capcom today announced that they will be bringing the beloved title to current generation consoles in the form of an HD remake. It will be available on PSN as a digital download (£15.99/€19.99) with no news of a hard copy just yet. The game was praised for being “one of the most beautiful games ever created” and “pure [cell shaded] perfection.”

In Okami players take on the role of Amaterasu, the Japanese sun goddess, who inhabits the form of a wolf. After a tyrannical monster turns the world into a ruined wasteland, she must use her magical abilities to restore the land to its previous glory full of life and colour.

To make the experience even more immersive the game will feature Move support.

No release date announced as yet, just a vague “this fall.” Check out the trailer below.
